Jammin' with Carolyn and Sandra program is a music class designed children, infants to 5 years old, with an adult companion.

Older siblings are welcome to join, too.

 It takes place on Thursday mornings from 9:45-10:30 throughout the summer camp program. (8 weeks, one day per week.)

Children begin to explore their inner musician while singing and dancing and having oodles of fun.

The program promotes language and brain development through research-based
singing, creative movement and word play. It uses Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze, Fierabend, and

Gordon music methods for young children.
 

The class features 15 minutes of creative music and drama learning stations for the child and adult at the beginning

of the class. And each week, they will take home a tote bag full of music enrichment materials.

Parents also receive a notebook that includes articles on childhood musical development and research, a

bibiliography of materials, and supplemental songs and games to enjoy at home.

Sandra Matheny is St. Joseph Montessori School's award winning music teacher. She is certified in Orff,

Conversational Solfege, Music Together, and First Steps in Music instructional methods.  She holds a

Masters in music with thirty years of experience teaching.
