SJMS Connect is an organization of parents, teachers, administrators, alumni, and supporters of  St. Joseph Montessori School. We support each others personal and professional endeavors so we can in turn support SJMS. We host periodic evening socials because many connectors cannot meet in the morning.

We meet regularly to:

  • Learn more about each other's professions and interests both at meetings and by referencing our online directory (see below).

  • Create an awareness of how we can support each other.

  • Expand our sphere of influence by connecting with other successful people.

  • Provide tips, leads and referrals to each other once we know, like and trust each other.

  • Track our successes so we can demonstrate the advantages of belonging to the organization.

  • Continually search for ways to support SJMS.

During my son’s first year at SJMS, I was struck by the incredible community that St. Joe’s fostered, not only for my son, but also for the parents, teachers, and faculty.  Over and over, I kept encountering people in meaningful, genuine, supportive relationships.  I knew I wanted to be better connected to the other parents at St. Joe’s but I wasn’t sure how.  In our second year at the school, I was grateful to be personally invited to attend the SJMS Connect meeting that takes place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 8:30am at the Market.  I had read about the meetings in newsletters, but assumed they were just for business people.  My full time work is serving as a pastor for a local United Methodist church.  I was a bit nervous and unsure what to expect.  What I found was a well structured, welcoming environment that was easy to step into and encouraged support of the various kind of work that all of us do.  Not only did I make some new friends, but I made incredible connections both professionally and personally.  My church found a new insurance agent, non-profit consultant, photographer, and even volunteers.  I had someone to call when I had questions about the sale of our home.  I’m even in the process of finding a ski instructor for my boys this winter.  Fellow parents, I encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity to connect with one another and further enjoy the rich community that exists as a part of this extraordinary school.
— April Blaine, Former SJMS Parent and Lead Pastor at Hilliard United Methodist Church
