We enroll approximately 275 students in grades Pre-K through 8. SJMS is accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Association and the American Montessori Society. We are located at 933 Hamlet Street in the historic Italian Village of Columbus, Ohio.
Teaching Faculty
SJMS is always on the lookout for dynamic Montessori teachers who are passionate about teaching, love working with students, and are dedicated to helping all students achieve. We look for educators who will inspire and support our students and be active participants in our vibrant learning community. Current Openings
Substitute Teachers: St. Joseph Montessori School, located in Italian Village, downtown Columbus, is looking for highly qualified substitute teachers to join our dynamic community. Substitute teachers may be working with children ages 18 months through 15 in a co-teaching team model. Montessori overview training is required and will be held in late August. If you enjoy working with and have a deep respect for children, can easily follow guidance in a peaceful manner, and are a life-long learner, come join our team! Pay rate is hourly and competitive.
Required: CPR Training, the school will provide in early August; Protecting God’s Children Training, the school will provide in early September, BCI/FBI Background Check; and Montessori Overview Training will be provided in late August.

Aftercare Employee: Aftercare is an extension of our students’ school day and offers specific programming and enrichment learning experiences. This position is for energetic and creative individuals interested in working with students ages 18 months to 14 years from the hours of 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM. The children are split into Toddler Aftercare (ages 18 months to 3 years), Children’s House Aftercare (ages 3-6), and Elementary/Middle School Aftercare (ages 6-14).
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Protecting God’s Training; BCI/FBI Background Check; and CPR Certification.
