SJMS Student Success - Power of the Pen

Power of the Pen is a creative writing competition between 7th and 8th students in the state of Ohio. Students are given three prompts and 40 minutes to write creatively about each prompt. In 2013 students from twenty-four schools competed in a district tournament. One SJMS student finished as high as 16th.  Four SJMS students ranked in the top 50th percentile qualifying them for the regional competition.  The regional tournament consisted of over 250 students from 48 schools.  One SJMS student won 1st place among all the 7th grade students!!
